Through Adversity To The Stars✨

They said I wouldn’t finish high school; their words almost affected me - I got sick and nearly died. But God, Who is the author and finisher of my faith had plans for me. I graduated with a diploma, applied for a top up, pursuing a degree in Public Relations. In level 300 final semester, I lost the man who meant the whole world to me, my father. I had to defer school for the whole academic year.

God being so good, I landed a job I never interviewed for, negotiated a salary that was doubled with bonuses, with additional privileges. I Started school again to finish the one-year gap left of my studies; and whilst at it, I suffered clinical depression to the point where I had suicidal thoughts.

I had to make the bold decision to seek help. I began a journey to mental wellness through therapy at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital with support from top management of the entity I worked with. This inspired them to create a support system for fellow colleagues who may be struggling with mental health issues like I did.

I finally finished school with a second class. It’s been a rollercoaster ride. But one thing always remained, God came through for me, and I achieved everything I ever dreamt of. I am not there yet, but I am grateful to God for never leaving me.

Challenges will not cease to exist in life, however, I am grounded in the belief that, the God I serve will never leave me to drown. This, is my story, and all the aforementioned challenges cannot be compared with what I have had to suffer in the last decade.
